About the New Jersey Written Knowledge Test

The New Jersey written knowledge test is administered by the New Jersey MVC. To obtain your Examination Permit, you must be at least 16 years old and score at least 80% on a 50-question multiple-choice exam. Questions cover road signs, right-of-way rules, traffic laws, and safe driving practices from the New Jerseydriver's manual.
