About the Minnesota Written Knowledge Test

The Minnesota written knowledge test is administered by the Minnesota DPS. To obtain your Instruction Permit, you must be at least 15 years old and score at least 80% on a 40-question multiple-choice exam. Questions cover road signs, right-of-way rules, traffic laws, and safe driving practices from the Minnesotadriver's manual.
